KNOW YOUR ARTISAN
Behind every weave is a name, a village, a lifetime.
Every saree on Atulya Karigari is made by a real person, with a real name, working in a real village. Not a factory. Not anonymous labour. A weaver you can now meet, read about, and choose to support.

Pradeep Kumar Kundu
Tie & Dye Khandua Silk (Ikat)INTRODUCTION
Namaskar! I am Pradeep Kumar Kundu from Nuapatna, Odisha. For generations, my family has woven Khandua Silk, the sacred fabric once made for Lord Jagannath, and I proudly continue this art as part of my heritage.
ABOUT THE ART
Khandua Silk weaving is a centuries-old craft, deeply tied to Odisha's temple culture. My ancestors wove dhotis for Lord Jagannath using vibrant tie-and-dye techniques. Since joining Atulya Karigari in 2019, I have created unique designs, preserving this sacred art while giving it fresh life for modern admirers.
HIS JOURNEY
After COVID forced me into another occupation, Atulya Karigari brought me back to my roots. Today, my weaves travel beyond Nuapatna, carrying with them the blessings of Lord Jagannath and the pride of my heritage.
LEGACY
Atulya Karigari continues to carry forward the old tradition, ensuring Khandua Silk inspires and enchants for generations to come.
