KNOW YOUR ARTISAN
Behind every weave is a name, a village, a lifetime.
Every saree on Atulya Karigari is made by a real person, with a real name, working in a real village. Not a factory. Not anonymous labour. A weaver you can now meet, read about, and choose to support.

Kartik Chandra Sur
Tusser Silk — Jhalla, Dolabedi, Sankha, GaraINTRODUCTION
Namaskar! I am Kartik Chandra Sur from Gopalpur, Odisha. With dedication and passion, I have revived my family's age-old craft of Tusser weaving, carrying forward the tradition my forefathers had left behind due to lack of engagement in the past.
ABOUT THE ART
Gopalpur Tusser Silk is renowned for its textured sheen and intricate cultural motifs like Jhalla, Dolabedi, Sankha, and Gara. Once fading away, this art now thrives again through my work with Atulya Karigari, where I combine traditional weaving with fresh designs to give Tusser a renewed place in modern wardrobes.
HIS JOURNEY
With Atulya Karigari's support, I have transformed a dying legacy into a growing craft. Each weave now tells a story of revival, pride, and connection to my roots.
LEGACY
Atulya Karigari continues to uphold the old tradition, keeping Gopalpur's Tusser weaving alive for generations to come.
