KNOW YOUR ARTISAN
Behind every weave is a name, a village, a lifetime.
Every saree on Atulya Karigari is made by a real person, with a real name, working in a real village. Not a factory. Not anonymous labour. A weaver you can now meet, read about, and choose to support.

Gangadhar Das
Tie & Dye Cotton (IKAT)INTRODUCTION
Namaskar! I am Gangadhar Das from Maniabandha, Odisha. For over two decades, I have been weaving Tie & Dye Cotton (IKAT), blending the simplicity of cotton with patterns that make every weave a piece of art.
ABOUT THE ART
Maniabandha IKAT cotton is created through a precise resist-dye process, where threads are tied, dyed, and then woven into patterns identical on both sides. Since joining Atulya Karigari in 2019, I have given traditional Odisha cotton a fresh appeal while keeping its authenticity intact.
HIS JOURNEY
Working with Atulya Karigari has allowed me to present my craft to new audiences across India. Each fabric I weave not only sustains my livelihood but also keeps alive the art my forefathers entrusted to me.
LEGACY
Atulya Karigari continues to uphold the old tradition, giving Maniabandha cotton a respected place in today's wardrobes.
